Mr. Robbins started his career in patent law in 1987 working for Washington D.C. patent law firms and has handled mechanical, nuclear energy, automotive, microwave communications and medical device technologies. From 1994 to 2000, Mr. Robbins lived in Osaka, Japan working in one of GLOBAL IP Group member firms, Shinjyu GLOBAL IP, handling mechanical and automotive technologies. From 2000 to 2004, Mr. Robbins worked in-house for a small biotechnology company handling bio-manufacturing, informatics and proteomics related technologies. In 2004, Mr. Robbins returned to the GLOBAL IP Group and now works in Washington, D.C. While living in Japan, Mr. Robbins was a frequent lecturer and founded the Foreign Intellectual Property Society (FIPS) which served to keep local Japanese patent practitioners with up-to-date information on changes in U.S., Asian and European patent practice.
